There are beautiful hand carved handicrafts made from "Palo Fierro" wood, made in the form of animals and figurines of important people in the Yaqui culture. The creations also include dolls, masks, calf leather handicrafts and musical instruments like the ones the Yaqui tribe used to play during their festivities, like the famous Dance of the Deer. A great variety of food can also be found in local cuisine, such as the traditional "coyotas", "cecina" (beef jerky), "machaca" (pulled dried beef), "tortillas sobaqueras" (big flour tortillas), "jamoncillos" (milk sugar candy) and the tasty sauces made from "chiltepin" pepper.
